Broken tooth question?

i have a broken tooth on my upper eye teeth area.it is all swoll and infected.how painful is it to have it removed.i am terrified of going to the dentist,but i have no choice eny more.what is the procedure like when he removes it.thanks from a scardy cat

The dentist will most likely give you a prescription of antibiotics to first bring that raging infection under control, then a few days later when the infection is under control, the broken tooth root will be pulled.





The extraction procedure is pretty straightforward.. A dentist will numb you up with some lidocaine, then use an elevator to loosen up the broken root and pop it out of the tooth socket. Because the upper jaw bone is kind of spongy, it%26#039;s usually pretty easy to do with the right instruments.





Just follow the dentist%26#039;s directions on taking any antibiotics and post-op care, and you will do great.
