I have a jacket w/ a broken zipper. The teeth wont fit together. Is there a way to fix it w/o sewing anything?

Yes, the jacket is cheap. I bought it on sale. The zipper worked in the store before i bought it and once after that. The third time was when it broke and hasn%26#039;t worked since. My thinking is that if it worked once it can work again. Any suggestions?

Ok, if none of the teeth are missing, you may be able to fix it without removing the zipper. Take the zipperpull and remove it with a pair of needlenose pliers. You need to take the tip of the pliers and put it between the space where the teeth go and pull back SLOWLY. If you yank back to hard or too fast, you will break the pull. You may need 2 pliers for leverage. Once you get it off, then align the teeth and zipper at the bottom of the jacket as if you are going to zip it up. Reclamp the zipperpull and teeth with the pliers(gently) and try to zip it up. Depending on whether or not the teeth are plastic or metal, you may have to do this a few times. It doesn%26#039;t always work with the plastic ones. If you can%26#039;t get it to work, then take the jacket to a dry cleaner that does repairs. Putting in a zipper is pretty easy, if you have any sewing knowledge. Hope this helps.
Reply:Best bet is take it to a seamstress, it won%26#039;t cost that much.
