I know I have to see dentist but now Im IMBARRASED AND SCARED. What is that thing on my gum? YUCKA!! Home remidies? Please no mean jokes, just help please.
My teeth have broken, cavities, hurt. Now I have a sore on gum that fills w/puss, %26amp; wont heal. What is it?
If the puss filled sore is near the root of the tooth you are probably experiencing an abscess of your tooth. An abscess happens when the living nerve inside your tooth has died due to trauma or a deep cavity. This infection will not go away permanently, but with antibiotics it may subside for a while. This is something you must get treated as the infection has now worked its way thru the bone and can get deeper into the tissues and potentially become life threatening. I repeat, please get it treated as there are no home remedies.
On another note, as a dental hygienist I respect patients who are willing to go get their dental needs taken care of. The health of your mouth is related to the health of your body, for example a diabetic person will have a harder time regulating their blood sugar with a chronic mouth infection. I like nothing more than to see a patient at their worst and over time getting to be their best. Please don%26#039;t be embarrassed, trust me I have seen about everything including a 60+ year old man who had never had his teeth cleaned...
Good luck, hope this helps and take care of yourself

Reply:it may be gingivitis/a gum infection...AND YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE DENTIST BEFORE IT WORSENS!
your mouth is always moist so a wound in your mouth will take a longer time to heal than a cut on your arm or anywhere else on your body that is usually dry
dont let embarrassment hold you back from going to the dentist! they%26#039;re professionals and they%26#039;ve probably seen worse! if you keep waiting it might be too late...what if you go sometime later and find out it could have been prevented if you%26#039;d gone before?
just FIY: pus = infection!
go ASAP!
Reply:If there is pus you have an infection. You need to see a dentist. That infection can spread to other places in your body.
Reply:First: Get out of Kentucky.
Second: Go see a dentist.
Reply:sweetie,
you have to see a dentist before it worsens.
your teeth sound HORRIBLE
DDDD; no offense -- but DAGGUM
you should keep up with your teeth more often
if you plan on getting kisses from people, you got to get your teeth fixed
no one wants to kiss someone with ****** up teeth
://
im sure your teeth will turn out fine if you just go to the dentist.
Reply:If it is a gum disease problem, this is a home remedy that will help which is recommended for patient who have gum disease problems. Mix some baking soda with some peroxyde (half and half). Brush thoroughly with that paste 3times a day for a couple weeks. (make a new paste every day so it doesn%26#039;t get full of bacteria) This will help with the purulation (%26quot;puss%26quot;) and give you a better breath. Then after a couple of weeks, when you feel better about your mouth and breath, ABSOLUTELY GO see a dentist !!
It might also be an abcess and you might need to take a antibiotic to get rid of the infection and then you should get your tooth repaired after you have finished your antibiotic.
Reply:sounds like an abcess,,,,which needs to be treated with antibiotics...duh. theres pus, you need medicine. quit being scared and get it taken care of before it gets even worse. Dentists have been trained to see all kinds of scary things in the mouth, let them do their job.
EDIT*** ADDITION***
if you have no insurance you can look into care credit....its a program that helps you pay off dental work at an easier rate.....seriousyl look into it. just becaus eyou have no insurance, doesnt mean you should let your teeth go to waste
Reply:It sounds like you have an abscess. They are very painful. There%26#039;s no home remedy that%26#039;s going to fix that. Go see your dentist. They see all kinds of icky mouth conditions. Don%26#039;t be embarrassed or scared. Good luck.
Reply:Sounds like you might have an abcess. Get to your Dentist as soon as possable. The infection can go into your bloodstream if left untreated. With an abcess you will have to be put on an antibiotic at least for a few days maybe longer(depending on how bad it is), before the dentist can work on your tooth or teeth. The antibiotic should help somewhat with the pain but it could take up to 72 hours for you to see an improvement. I must stress that an antibiotic is only a quick fix...and just because the pain is gone doesn%26#039;t mean you are out of the woods. The pain will return again if not treated by your dentist and might come back worse the next time around.
Do not be embarrased. I understand about you being scared I see it every day. Nobody enjoys going to the dentist. But you have to go and get this problem taken care of and also get your other teeth looked at. Waiting and avoiding is not going to help you it will only get worse.....
PLEASE GO TO THE DENTIST
Good Luck
Reply:Dentist that is easy too say but the BILL they will refuse to work with you if you don%26#039;t have insurance second they will refer you to a low cost clinic that doesn%26#039;t help because you make a 1.00 more a year to Qualify. what do you do then ?
Reply:Sound like an abscess. You really need to see a dentist. They wont refuse to see u if you don%26#039;t have insurance. It may be costly but most places will work with you.
Reply:If you have a sore on your gums and it is filled with puss that sounds like an abcess to me. You need to get to the Dentist. This is something that you dont want to mess around with becuase if it is an abcess, the infection can get into your blood stream and kill you. The likely-hood of this happening isnt very likely but it has happened. Please get to your dentist soon and get this checked out. Also, if they cant get you in for a few days tell them what is going on and ask then to call you in a antiobitic for the time being and that will help with the infection. GOOD LUCK!
Reply:The infection from your teeth might have gone down and spread to your bone and other supporting tissues.
The best thing you can do is to visit the dentist. You need help. Don%26#039;t be scared. Ask your friends for recommendations. They might know a kind and caring dentist who can help you and would be sensitive to your concerns. For the mean time. Be healthy. Keep your mouth clean. Brush 3 x a day. Use floss and if possible gargle mouth wash. But please, visit the dentist ASAP.
Reply:you cant do it by yourself, you need a dentist.brush your teeth and gargle with mouthwash and go to the dentist,NOW
Reply:You May Have Peridontal Disease Which Needs To Be Checked Immediately. Infections In Your Teeth Can Be Very Harmful To Your Heart.
Reply:Don%26#039;t be embarrassed by going to the dentist. No one is going to look down on you or judge you. They want to help you. I%26#039;m a dental hygienist. You have an infection. You need antibiotics. Go see your dentist and start the process of getting your teeth fixed. If money is a problem, then there are dental schools that usually see patients at a markedly reduced rate. If you live by one, that%26#039;s great! As for home remedies, oil of cloves soothes the pain of a toothache.
Reply:its called a canker sore. and no its not an std. you can get rid of it with vitamin c or go to the drug store and get some canker gel. its cheap.. but the reason why you have it is bad oral hygiene. im sure its not helping with your teeth problem. you should see about getting the teeth that are bad pulled out before they begin to rot..
Reply:ok first of all you should have gone to the dentist as soon as your tooth broke or as soon as you noticed that you had a problem, ignoring pain/pus etc is not good where ever in the body!
Let me guess, your gum has a swelling around where the broken tooth is? this is a sure sign that the broken tooth has got infected from bacteria that live in your mouth, through poor oral hygeine and/or from the nerve that lives inside the tooth dying and getting rid of this dead pulp via the gum.
Either way you need to get to see your dentist ASAP asa matter of urgency. If left untreated it can start affecting other teeth and a long term infection anywhere in the body reduces your whole immune system, leading you to b ecome more prone to other infections, like picking up colds/flu etc alot more easily.
THere are no real home remedies, pain killers help if its sore, if you can bear a little bit of pain maybe %26#039;milking%26#039; the pus out of the boil will releive some of the pressure. But it will keep coming back until you get to the source of the infection (usually theres a little sac sitting at the bottom of the root thats filled with pus). A root canal treatment is a good way of dealing with this or an extreme measure would be to have the tooth extracted.
Keep your mouth good and clean brush twice a day for 2 minutes, use floss/interdental brushes twice a day. But most importantly GO SEE YOUR DENTIST BEFORE IT GETS WORSE (btw, if the infection gets into your blood steam you could get septacaemia (blood poisoning))
Reply:Well if it was me I would be gargling with peroxide twice daily and keep my mouth as clean as I can. You don%26#039;t want the infection to get into your bloodstream that will only worsen your condition altogether! If that doesn%26#039;t work go see a dentist last resort.
